This post covers the camera firmware work of 21 and 22 October, and a short gaming note from 20 October. Details are in the linked posts.

TuyaBeGone, part 2

The free firmware for the LSC camera now runs on an isolated test bench (a spare UDM Pro with no cloud account, and a Raspberry Pi as the access point). It gained a date and name overlay drawn by the ISP (protocol reconstructed from the closed library), image flipping, proper names in UniFi Protect, ECDSA-signed updates from a file or a URL, and three ways back to the factory firmware. A one-file tool backs up, installs and restores a camera over the serial console, an SD card or both, and one SD card can now install several cameras. → TuyaBeGone, part 2: OSD, signed updates, installer

Note: Fortnite on Linux

Epic’s new Linux launcher installs Fortnite and starts it with Proton. Then Easy Anti-Cheat downloads its Linux module, gets an empty file, and the launcher reports a crash. Also, a Rocket League that silently refused to start was just out of date. → Fortnite on Linux: an empty anti-cheat module
